About

The Talk Pad 8 in brief

Talk Pad 8 is the smallest model in Smartbox's portable iPad-based AAC range. It is designed for users who want a lightweight dedicated communication aid with Grid for iPad, accessible power and volume controls, an adjustable stand, protective case, high-quality speaker and two wired switch ports. It is drop-tested to 1 metre and IP22 rated. The standard package includes the communication aid, mains adaptor and dual charging lead, carry case, neck strap, hand strap, screen cleaning cloth and support documentation. Talk Pad includes 3 years of SmartCare. It can be mounted on a wheelchair or stand and can use touch, keyguards or switches, but Smartbox explicitly states that Talk Pad is not available with eye gaze.

Who it helps

Is this right for you?

Users who want the lightest and most portable Smartbox dedicated AAC device and can access communication through touch, a keyguard or switches. Talk Pad 8 is not an eye-gaze device; if eye gaze is required, Grid Pad 13 or Grid Pad 16 should be considered instead.
