About

The Pal Pad in brief

The Adaptivation Pal Pad is a rigid, low-profile pressure-activated switch designed for users with limited strength or fine motor control. Adaptivation specifies activation with approximately 2 ounces of force, including touches coming from directly above or at a shallow angle. At roughly one tenth of an inch thick, the Pal Pad can be positioned on a table, tray or other surface without the height of a conventional button switch. It uses a standard 3.5 mm plug and is available in Mini, Small and Large sizes as well as multiple colours, including a glow-in-the-dark option. The switch is silent and does not provide a mechanical click, which can be useful when the activity itself should provide the primary feedback.

Who it helps

Is this right for you?

Switch users who can make a small, intentional press but have limited strength, range or fine motor control. Different sizes allow the activation area to be matched to the user's movement, while the low profile makes it useful on trays and other close-access surfaces.
