1. About these terms
www.consortworld.com and its sub-domains (the “Website”) are owned and operated by Consort World FZCO, licence number [confirm licence number and issuing free zone authority], Office 1102, The Dome Tower, Cluster N, Jumeirah Lake Towers, PO Box 282404, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“Consort World”, “we”, “us”). These terms apply to your use of the Website and to any order you place through it. By using the Website or placing an order, you accept these terms, our Privacy Policy, our Cookie Policy, our Shipping and Return Policy and our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
The United Arab Emirates is our country of domicile.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be 18 or over to register an account or place an order. Products for children or other people may be ordered by a parent, guardian, organisation or professional acting for them.
You are responsible for keeping your account sign-in details confidential and for activity under your account. Tell us at once at info@consortworld.com if you think your account has been misused.
3. Information on the Website
We take care to keep product descriptions, specifications, images and prices accurate and current. Colours and dimensions may vary slightly from what your screen shows. Where we discover an error in a price or description after you order, we will contact you, and you may cancel for a full refund.
Information about conditions, therapies and product suitability is general guidance. It does not replace an individual assessment by a qualified professional. We recommend an assessment before choosing assistive or communication equipment, and we can arrange one.
4. Orders and contracts
Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we confirm the order by email. We may decline an order, for example if a product is unavailable, if we cannot deliver to your address, or if we suspect fraud. If we decline after taking payment, we refund you in full.
We issue an electronic invoice for every order. Some products are configured or ordered specially for you; the product page or your quotation will say so, and different cancellation terms may apply.
5. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in UAE dirhams (AED) or, where the Website offers it, in your local currency, and include VAT where it applies. Delivery charges are shown before you pay.
We accept payment by Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards, processed securely by our payment provider, Paymennt, and by bank transfer. Cash on delivery is available where it is offered at checkout. We do not charge extra for paying by card. Your card is charged in the currency shown at checkout; if your card is in another currency, your bank may apply its own exchange rate and fees.
Please keep a copy of your order confirmation and transaction records.
6. Delivery, returns and refunds
Delivery is covered by our Shipping and Return Policy. Cancellations and refunds are covered by our Refund and Cancellation Policy. Refunds are made to the original payment method. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under UAE Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 on Consumer Protection, including your right to a repair, replacement or refund for a defective product.
7. Warranty and after-sales service
Each product carries the warranty stated on its product page or in its documentation, including the warranty period. The warranty starts when you receive the product. We provide after-sales support, maintenance and spare parts for the products we sell, directly or through the manufacturer.
8. Sanctions
We will not trade with, or provide services to, any person or country subject to sanctions under UAE law or administered by the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and we may cancel any order that would breach those rules.
9. Acceptable use
You must not use the Website unlawfully, upload malicious code, try to gain unauthorised access, scrape or harvest data, or post content that is false, defamatory, offensive or infringes anyone’s rights. We may suspend access for breach of this section.
10. Intellectual property
The Website’s content, design and Consort World branding belong to us or our licensors. Product names, logos and images of the manufacturers we represent belong to those manufacturers and are used with their permission as their authorised partner. You may view and print pages for personal or internal business use only.
11. Links to other websites
We link to manufacturers, partners and other resources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
12. Data, analytics and cookies
We handle personal data as described in our Privacy Policy, under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021. We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy. If we introduce analytics or advertising tools that are not strictly necessary, we will update the Cookie Policy first and ask for your consent before those tools run. You may withdraw consent at any time.
13. Liability
We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our negligence. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business losses where you buy as a business, or for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under UAE law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version on this page when you place an order applies to that order.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms, and any purchase, dispute or claim arising from them or from your use of the Website, are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates. The courts of Dubai have jurisdiction. Please contact us first; most issues can be resolved quickly. Consumers may also complain to the Ministry of Economy or the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.
16. Language
These terms are available in English and Arabic. If the two versions differ, the Arabic version prevails [applies once the Arabic version is published].
